Policy Consultation: Improve psychiatric outcomes in women across the reproductive life span through innovative policy change
Clinical Consultations: Improve individual outcomes by one-time psychiatric consultations for pregnancy planning, pregnancy or postpartum care, or perimenopausal care
Education and Training: Increase provider and system capacity through high-impact presentations and training
About Dr. Dossett:
Emily C. Dossett, MD, MTS is a reproductive psychiatrist and the director of Reproductive Mental Health Consultants. After twenty years of clinical, educational, and policy and programmatic work in reproductive mental health, she offers a wealth of practical and innovative expertise in perinatal mental health care systems change. Dr. Dossett's consultative and advisory group work includes the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, California's Department of Health Care Services, SAMHSA's Federal Maternal Mental Health Task Force, the California Health Care Foundation, Mathematica, the Institute for MediCaid Innovation, and the University of Washington's AIM Center, among others. She worked as the first Assistant Medical Director for Women's Health and Reproductive Psychiatry at LA County's Department of Mental Health, the largest public mental health system in the country. Dr. Dossett served as co-advisor for Health Affairs' 2024 special theme issue on perinatal mental health and has been interviewed for podcasts by NPR's Life Examined, the Business Group on Health, and numerous other media outlets. She is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in the departments of Psychiatry and of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Dr. Dossett is also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.
